DESCRIPTION
Each metered-dose pump actuation of MOMETOMEX® Nasal Spray delivers 50 micrograms mometasone furoate.

INDICATIONS AND USAGE
MOMETOMEX® Nasal Spray is a corticosteroid indicated for:
  • Use in adults, adolescents, and children between the ages of 3 and 11 years to treat the symptoms of seasonal or perennial rhinitis.
  • Prophylaxis of Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis in patients 12 years of age and older.
  • Treatment of Nasal Symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis in patients 3 years of age and older. 
  • Treatment of Nasal Congestion Associated with Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis in patients 3 years of age and older. 
  • Treatment of Nasal Polyps and associated symptoms including congestion and loss of smell in adult patients 18 years of age and older. 
  • Use in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older as adjunctive treatment to antibiotics for acute episodes of sinusitis. 
Note: Treatment with MOMETOMEX® Nasal Spray is recommended two to four weeks prior to the anticipated start of the pollen season. 

Proper use
  • Shake the container well before each use.
  • Regular use is required to obtain full therapeutic benefit.
  • Importance of not using more medication than the amount prescribed.
  • Avoid spraying this medication in your eyes.
  • Before use, blowing your nose to clear nasal passages before administration.
  • Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • To use the spray, first remove the safety clip and plastic cap. Close one nostril by pressing it with your finger. Tilt your head slightly forward and, keeping the bottle upright, carefully insert the nasal applicator into the other nostril. Press down firmly on the pump to deliver the prescribed number of sprays. Do not spray directly onto the middle wall of your nose (nasal septum). Breathe in gently through your nose and out through your mouth. Repeat in the other nostril. Wipe the applicator tip and replace the plastic cap and safety clip.

Note: Before you use the spray for the first time, hold the spray away from your eyes and place your fingers each side of the nozzle. Press down a few times until you can see a fine mist in the air. If the nasal spray hasn't been used for a few days you should reprime it in this way before using it again.

Dosage and Administration

  • Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis Adults and Adolescents 12 Years of Age and Older: 
Two sprays in each nostril once daily (total daily dose of 200 mcg).

Children 3 to 11 Years of Age:
One spray in each nostril once daily (total daily dose of 100 mcg).

  • Treatment of Nasal Polyps 
Adults 18 Years of Age and Older:
Two sprays in each nostril twice daily (total daily dose of 400 mcg).

  • Adjunctive treatment of acute episodes of sinusitis: 
Adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older:
Two sprays (50 micrograms/ spray) in each nostril twice daily (total dose 400 micrograms).

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
MOMETOMEX® Nasal Spray should not be used in the presence of untreated localized infection involving the nasal mucosa.
